Donating Trees & Benches

Larchmont has been recognized as a “Tree City USA” by the National Arbor Day Foundation for more than 30 years.  To maintain the Village’s tree canopy, the Parks & Trees Committee has a program of planting a variety of trees each year in the community’s parks and along its streets. The Village of Larchmont Parks & Trees Committee also facilitates the purchase of a tree or a bench for individuals who are interested in making a donation to one of the Village parks. Trees and benches help beautify the Village and can be donated to honor a family member, a friend or someone special.

The current donation price for trees and benches can be found in the Village of Larchmont’s Fees & Charges Schedule. The cost for tree donations includes the tree, delivery and labor, planting materials and maintenance, and a plaque. Plaques will not be placed under a tree. The cost for bench donations includes the bench, delivery and labor, and the purchase and installation of the plaque on the back of the bench.

The donations are for the actual tree planted or the actual bench purchased as well as the plaque. Should the tree, bench or plaque be vandalized or stolen, etc., the Village is under NO obligation to replace them.  The donor must bear the cost of a replacement tree, bench or plaque (if desired) if it is damaged or vandalized.

For those interested in donating a tree or bench, the Parks & Trees Committee would be happy to help with the process.  Please send requests for information to the Village Clerk at villageclerk@larchmontny.gov.
